Together with professional photographer, Lis Tyroler, and scientist/educator and photographer, Kim Moore, we taught the workshop participants to use point and shoot cameras to express and document their experiences for exhibition.

Lis took her studio to the library where we practiced some advanced lighting techniques

Students exhibited their work at the FRANK Gallery Community Outreach Gallery where they hosted a reception for family and friends and made formal presentations

Students hosted a second reception at the Durham Regional Library where their work is on display for the community. Their photography will be traveling to additional venues where present what they learned about cameras, but more importantly, their feelings and ideas.

The participants are part of a national organization. Gigi's Playhouse serves the adult population with programs that offer community exploration and service, self-help and self-advocacy and health/wellness and fitness, in addition to many more valuable topics. Math and Literacy tutoring is also offered to anyone who desires to learn. Gigi's Playhouse is a non-profit charity located in Cary, NC.
